OUR STORY

We have been farmers in Napa Valley for over 40 years.

Although we follow in the footsteps of the valley’s great pioneers, we like to think we’ve cut our own path. In our early days, as we learned the ropes as grape growers, we quickly discovered the importance of place and the essence of a great vineyard site. This understanding led us to acquire land in some of Napa Valley’s finest appellations, including Rutherford, Oakville, St. Helena and Los Carneros. As our family has grown, so have our vineyard holdings, and we now farm nearly 350 acres of vineyards throughout Napa Valley.

We have always strived to grow grapes at the highest level, experimenting with rootstocks, clones, trellis systems and viticulture practices. We embraced organic and sustainable farming to become better neighbors as well as to promote balanced ecosystems on our ranches. We were one of the first growers to pick grapes at night, lugging generators and floodlights through the fields in order to hand harvest and deliver fruit that was cool and pristine. When the demand for housing became so overwhelming that workers were sleeping under bridges and on the steps of churches we helped build farmworker housing.

Our love of the land and care for our community influences everything we do.
